Lasted a long time but went out and caused a fire on the mains

Although this heater has lasted a long time (6 years) I went out a few minutes ago. It hissed, crackled, burned and caught fire INSIDE THE TANK which I thought was impossible. I was able to turn it off before anything worse happened, but while I've had heaters in the past that stopped working (usually, in my experience, they either stop regulating temperature or don't heat at all), I've never experienced that. happened. . I always try to turn off the water during a water change (and didn't last

Great heater! the best heaters and coolers for aquariums

I've read a lot of heater reviews from different brands (on different websites) and asked on fish forums and was told to buy this one. I'm glad I bought it because this heater works great! It's very accurate. It comes with suction cups for attaching to glass and can be fully or partially submerged in water (mine is fully submerged). At the top is an indicator for the minimum water level. If you hold the temperature controller partially above the water and the water flows below this line, the…

worked great until it broke.

This heater has lasted me 55 gallons for 2 years. I never really had to worry about it. I was confident that it would withstand any temperature. Note that the temperature on the heater does not match the temperature in the tank. I used a separate thermometer to set the temperature. Today this heater turned out quite spectacular. Do some basic tank maintenance, stick my hand in, bam. Big shock. I was so surprised that I almost knocked over the whole tank. Everything looked good at first glance…

No longer works best in aquarium heaters and coolers

Another heater that I was hoping and praying to the aquarium gods to actually work and work. I just do not understand. I have tried all the big brands and highly rated aquarium heaters. I always turn everything off for a water change so I know I'm not going to short them out. It started working fine, 300 watts for a 45 gallon tank. With circulation for heat distribution. I set it to 80, the tank didn't go over 78. After a few weeks, the temperature in the tank began to drop, even during the…

Wrong choice, temperature changes

I liked this heater a little more when I first got it than now. I ran it in the bow of my 36-gallon Aqueon for less than a month (trying to keep the tank temp at around 77 degrees Fahrenheit) and at first the dial wasn't accurate (it was off by a few degrees). It took me a bit of fiddling to find the right temperature, but once I had it it was set and not really fluctuating. The temp dropped a few degrees about a week ago, I adjusted the dial to match the temp and it worked fine for a while…

Excellent customer service. Excellent heating. :)

I have had aquariums for over 8 years and this Aqueon Pro Heater is by far one of the best heaters I have tried. The adjustable temperature top is easy to read and very easy to set. The light on the front shows when it's heating up (red) or when it's reaching the ideal temperature (green). I keep a thermometer in the tank to make sure the temperature isn't fluctuating or wrong, but with this heater I've never had a problem with it being anything other than the set temperature. I originally…

Reliable, Accurate, Economical

By the time I started raising fish, I had already spent a lot of money on aquariums, fish, filtration systems, and so on. With heaters I got cheap. In less than two years I have replaced two heaters in my four pools. This time I went with the Aqueon Pro Heater which is unbreakable (no glass), includes a thermostat with a temperature sensor and hopefully lasts a long time because I trust Aqueon. I have one in one of my tanks - I inherited it when I bought the tank and all the accessories from a…

I'm so sick of glass heaters, these hard plastic ones definitely fit!

So far, so good. Most heaters work the same and I've bought a lot from Amazon and the prices are way better than pet stores. But I've definitely learned from my past mistakes when buying glass heaters. Every glass heater I've bought has cracked when the water level got too low to cover the heater's glass element. So I definitely had that in the back of my mind when I bought it. So far I like the design and my fish seem to like it too. I've been looking for a new one for about 6 months and the…
