Another heater that I was hoping and praying to the aquarium gods to actually work and work. I just do not understand. I have tried all the big brands and highly rated aquarium heaters. I always turn everything off for a water change so I know I'm not going to short them out. It started working fine, 300 watts for a 45 gallon tank. With circulation for heat distribution. I set it to 80, the tank didn't go over 78. After a few weeks, the temperature in the tank began to drop, even during the heat. I increased the set temperature 2 degrees at a time to compensate and eventually it even stopped turning on as the temperature continued to drop. It's like the water temperature sensing mechanisms on all of these modern heaters just don't work properly or break after a very short use. I have resorted to purchasing an external temperature controller to read, adjust and regulate my heaters and now I have two 300w titanium heaters to use with the external controller.
