So far, so good. Most heaters work the same and I've bought a lot from Amazon and the prices are way better than pet stores. But I've definitely learned from my past mistakes when buying glass heaters. Every glass heater I've bought has cracked when the water level got too low to cover the heater's glass element. So I definitely had that in the back of my mind when I bought it. So far I like the design and my fish seem to like it too. I've been looking for a new one for about 6 months and the one piece hard plastic construction is what I needed. I admit I'm lazy and sometimes I drop the water level an inch or two before adding new water so I really like its longevity so when I'm in the mood for a water change or just adding fresh water in general , I won You don't have to worry about the heater breaking or water leakage. You can literally set it and forget it. It has an LED indicator to let you know it's working. This is a subtle design. I have a 15 gallon tank and this is the first tank I have bought that I have found fits deep enough in my tank to heat a large area of water. I usually place it vertically on the back of the tank but I find if you have a shorter tank you can place it horizontally and it will still cover most of your tank. I look forward to seeing the strength and durability of this heater but so far this has been the best heater I have purchased from Amazon in terms of quality and design. I'm absolutely still in love with this thing. I just saw that it includes a little LED that lets you know it's working. My fish seem to enjoy it and hang around during the day. You can literally set it and forget it. I seem to have 150 watts in a 15 gallon tank and it fits my tank vertically like a glove. About two inches from the bottom of the glass and two inches from the rim so it covers more surface area for better heating of the water. The plastic looks and feels very durable and I hope this item will last a long time. I am planning on getting a bigger tank next year and I will definitely put it on my buyout list for a new setup.
