Review on πŸ’ͺ Microsoft Band 2 - Medium: The Ultimate Fitness Tracker for an Active Lifestyle by Carron Goebel

Poor quality physical and logical design - save money!

I bought 2 of these units when they first came out - one for my wife and one for me. Mine had the infamous crack streaks after a few months of use. It began to split on the outer surface at the edge where something solid ends at the top of the strip - about an inch from the screen. I don't know if it's a plank or what, but there wasn't a crack on the side, the surface started splitting along the edge - towards the center, but only about halfway across the strip to the hard bit in the Group. I sent it in and they replaced it, but that's not very reassuring. He'll probably do it again once the warranty runs out. For the price, this is absolutely and utterly unacceptable. I also had to have surgery to remove a kidney - I was told to lose weight so my remaining kidney would function better. So I wanted this group to help me with that. I enjoyed using it with MyFitnessPal to track my workouts and food intake. Integration is here a week. There are too many issues with transferring exercises to MyFitnessPal where things just don't sync very well. Heavier than it's worth. It may or may not be a MyFitnessPal issue, but either way it's not working well and it's affecting the group. Monitor your activity - heart rate, steps, etc. But no, you have to select a workout or toggle general workout mode on/off. We live in the country and do a lot of strange things that are hard to track down. For example sawing wood with a chainsaw, moving/stacking logs, chopping firewood, stacking firewood, digging footers, mixing concrete, moving lumber, shoveling dirt, breaking hard dirt/rocks with a pickaxe, etc., this stuff is full of common ones starts/stops. I'm busy. I don't remember turning on the band/stopping the band/starting the band/stopping the band etc. Sometimes I need to do chores around the house, but due to the short battery life it often won't charge when I'm ready to go to work , it is no stranger. Due to the need to send it in for replacement and frequent charging, I just find it difficult to maintain a regime so that it's on all the time when I need it. I can't remember starting/stopping this 20 times a day while doing physically demanding housework. I just think that bad physical design, weekly logic design and price lead to a bad rating. And that's just mine. My wife has the same problems as she helps me a lot with housework, so getting a realistic idea of calories burned for all practical purposes is debatable. There was no bang in their group, they just stopped working – for the second time! I am willing to send them back for a second failure. It keeps saying the battery is low when plugged into a charger, even though it had a nice partial charge before plugging it in - around 50% or so. Or plug it in and as soon as it says it's 100% charged, it unplugs and it's dead. Or it's not even fully discharged, then it charges and then turns off - it says that the The battery is empty and you need to reset the settings / clock. Then eventually it just died - it won't charge and won't turn on. Mine did that too but never died. When we bought it, it was again $500. That's a lot of money to spend. At this rate they continue to fail - I don't expect them to exceed their guarantees for any significant period of time - and then we just won't have any more money, time and deterioration. I absolutely cannot recommend them to anyone. Even if you exercise regularly and can track certain types of workouts with constant time, etc., equipment failures are a sign of an expected loss of your hard-earned cash.

  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
