Review on Effortlessly Navigate Your Laptop Or Desktop With The Perixx PERIPAD-501 Wired USB Touchpad by Tony Miller

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great, but small size makes accidental triggering of edge gestures likely

I really like this so far, but I keep triggering unwanted gestures. Three gestures in particular: (1) one finger up from bottom edge in Firefox opens the Bookmarks sidebar (it seems to do a command-B), (2) two-finger up/down scroll from the edge moves to the top/bottom of the page, and (3) three-finger up moves the window behind other windows. The first two are my fault, but the third happens when I'm only using two fingers. I will probably be able get used to it enough to avoid these most of the time, but I really wish that I could just disable them (or that the touchpad was slightly bigger to make it easier to avoid the edges). No problems on the Mac, by the way.

Pros
  • Switchable left and right click buttons for ambidextrous use
Cons
  • The touchpad may not have a backlight for nighttime use
