Review on πŸ”‘ Chamberlain Clicker KLIK2U-P2 Keyless Entry: Compatible with Chamberlain, LiftMaster, Craftsman, Genie, and Security +2.0 Garage Door Openers by Christian Byrd

One star for poor instructions

We had a clickr that came with the house. It still works after many years. I just bought this device because I needed a second device. Like many reviewers, I have issues with how sticky the sliding lid is. I've used Door Ease on the rails to make them more slippery but we live in a dusty and hot climate and I'm sure we don't like the sticky surface. On the other hand, the original Clickr cover slides easily. What annoys me about this device is the poor programming instructions for the device. I've read in Revain reviews that an opener ID should be two digits and vice versa just one digit. For KLIK2U this is a digit. There is a warning on Chamberlain's website that you cannot pause to step 4 when programming. That is, before step 5! The keyboard backlight should illuminate before entering the Opener ID (Step 5). Also, my device requires you to press and HOLD the 0 button after entering the 4 digit PIN in step 7. Press and hold the 0 button until the motor module clicks, then release. Step 7 does not mention this. So if you follow my instructions and ignore the instructions on Chamberlain's webpage, I'm sure the wireless keyboard will work. The manual has a copyright date of 2017. Chamberlain is incredibly lazy and/or incompetent to sell so many units with the wrong manual for the last 3+ years. But apparently the $$ is their bottom line, so they cause inconvenience to the buyer that Chamberlain doesn't have to revise a single page of the guide. What? Also, as others have suggested, make sure you install the keyboard after programming. The instructions at this stage are ambiguous. As others have suggested, install the keyboard after programming.
