Works for a few weeks and then does. If you want a reliable system, DON'T GET THIS! You have to take it apart to reset it and MAYBE it will work a little longer.

Simplisafe is very easy to set up. My son assembled it in 20 minutes. It works great and has a good clear picture, easy to turn on and off. The only thing I was disappointed about was that it didn't work with my phone. I have an old Android smartphone. It connected perfectly to my son's new Android phone and to my sister-in-law's iPhone. It's good that you live with me. I think I need to buy a new cell phone.

So it's a very cool easy to install system. I really didn't want 24/7 monitoring, so that seemed like a good fit for me. The problem that brought me back is that without surveillance you can't even use the app on your phone to arm or disarm. This means that it is a glorified, very expensive doorbell. There are way better doorbells out there for way less money, sorry for the simplicity but they just weren't cool on the subject. If I could arm, disarm and control my phone I would keep it.

After installing the SimpliSafe system, I noticed that no emergency services were dispatched unless an emergency was confirmed. Unless you have purchased a system with a camera or microphone for listening in, there is no way to search for an emergency without additional cost. Also, their monitoring service ($25/month) is required for you to connect to your system through their app or your smartphone. Thus, the system is useless when you are not at home. I am in love with this system. It was so easy to set up. Everything was set up and installed in just 30 minutes. We upgraded to live monitoring for $24.99 per month, but live monitoring is also available for $14.95, or you can choose not to use live monitoring.
