App can't be used without monitoring

So it's a very cool easy to install system. I really didn't want 24/7 monitoring, so that seemed like a good fit for me. The problem that brought me back is that without surveillance you can't even use the app on your phone to arm or disarm. This means that it is a glorified, very expensive doorbell. There are way better doorbells out there for way less money, sorry for the simplicity but they just weren't cool on the subject. If I could arm, disarm and control my phone I would keep it.
