This security system is amazing, so why should I give it 1 star? It has some pretty cool hardware, it's very easy to set up and use, and the monitoring service is top notch (called me for every test I took and called the police when my husband turned off the alarm). The reason for the 1 star rating is so hopefully someone who buys this system knows to always turn off Wi-Fi when running system tests. The mobile network of my system failed and since my WLAN was there as a "backup" I didn't understand anything. That was until today, when I unplugged the router at my house and then had to run to the store to get the cable. I received NO notification from the mobile application when I set the alarm that it was not connected to the monitoring station. So I went my own happy way and when I got home I noticed that I wasn't getting the normal push notification that I'd disabled the alarm (strangely, I was told I'd armed the device). And then I started researching. did a test. Nothing. Not a call center call like I ALWAYS got. So trust me I am angry. If someone decided to break into my house, I would be completely defenseless. If I had Wi-Fi on but a thief had the foresight to turn off the power in my house (it's as simple as opening a switch box and turning off all the switches), again my security system wouldn't ADVERTISE that it was using the cellular network used to report the burglary. I feel insulted! This is a complete and unacceptable breach of trust in their consumers and I hope someone else reads this and understands if they interfere. By the way, I have two systems. one in my house and one in my rent. The rental has no Wi-Fi and relies only on a cellular signal, and it works perfectly. So I'll be leaving this system (hopefully getting a working replacement) but I really hope this review will let other people know how to test this system to make sure they're getting the service they expect.
