We just installed this and love it. Each part of it is slowly closing. (see videos). We bought this along with a Squatty Potty Bear (with hat) for our 24 month old to use the potty. She loves it! It's not attracted to the lid by a magnet, which I like. You can't expect your baby to take the seat off before going to the potty. This is the opposite of the Kohler seat, which magnetically keeps the car seat attached to the cover. Fixing/installation and assembly was easy - EXCEPT I had to remove the nut and bottom plastic mounting piece and attach from below after pushing the bold through (not explained in the photo instructions). Also, there were small white caps that seem useless, I didn't use them (don't know what they're for). Overall, I chose this because, unlike the colorway, it doesn't pinch babies and the potty seat can be easily removed on the go. Just hope this helps other mums/dads. ❤ UPDATE: We've had it for about 4 months and we LOVE it. Funny story, I put my 2 year old daughter on the toilet one day and she slid back on her own. OH OH! I forgot to put the tiny seat in and she fell over. It was so funny! We still laugh about it. Thing is, unlike other brands, the tiny seat doesn't fall off on its own (good if you're an adult), so make sure you put it down. I also confess that I've sat in the potty seat myself MANY times with the seat down with no discomfort - so it's sturdy. It's thick/durable plastic and it will last! I had to replace the batteries in ONE of the toilets after 2 months but it may have just been my batteries. The other is still strong. (We bought an oblong and round one.) As for the backlight, the light is almost invisible when the lid is closed, so not in the way and not too bright, but still useful. See my photos/videos how the light glows blue. The light is set on a timer and will activate (start) as soon as you place the last dough in the component. There is a retractable part with small batteries and a small blue LED strip. You insert the batteries and then insert them into the right side (facing the toilet) of the toilet seat. So if you don't feel the light timer is what you want, simply remove the batteries and put them back in from the time you want the timer to start. You will repeat the cycle daily. So. We still love these places. They were expensive but they were worth it!
