Review on Keyboard Logitech MX Keys black, English by Adam Pietras ᠌

Feel free to buy, for such a price, the quality is simply amazing.

In summary, I am happy with the purchase, and I have high hopes that this keyboard from Logitech will survive as long as the one I had before it, which was eight years. The majority of my difficulty is, of course, due to the many years that I spent becoming accustomed to the earlier keyboard that was also manufactured by Logitech. The convenience of pushing buttons on a keyboard should not, however, become a casualty of the designers' attempts to introduce "novelty" or "beauty" by equalizing the size of function buttons; rather, this should be a victim of the designers' decision to move the top row to the side. I would want Logitech to give its designers a good whack over the head. If you believe that no one utilizes the F1-F10 buttons for what they were designed for, you are gravely mistaken. Many people do use those buttons.

Pros
  • The keyboard is fantastic; the buttons and the layout are made of high-quality material, and everything about it is just how I like it. Because it is heavy, it does not move around on the table (the expression "Heavy is reliability"!). Although there is a backlight, I find that I nearly never need to make use of it.
Cons
  • It is entirely incomprehensible why and to whom the desired button is being prioritized, therefore the left shift has had a significant amount of its functionality severely reduced. As a consequence of this, up until recently (a month ago, I purchased a keyboard), I had a habit of missing with my little finger. The ESC button has been significantly bigger, and the F1 buttons and the like have been shifted to the right; once again, this causes me to miss it frequently. The backlight is designed in such a way that it serves no use and it is simpler to turn off than it ever has been before. It would be feasible to utilize it to improve the appearance even during the day if there weren't such gaps around the buttons, but in the version that is currently available, it is more distracting and bothersome than it is beneficial (and at the same time, it uses up the battery much more quickly than it should). From this point on, the dumb backlight will turn off quickly and remain off permanently. To switch it on would only make sense if you had an immediate need to operate in conditions that were nearly as dark as pitch black. There is no need to hit the Fn key in order for the session lock button to work. In my opinion, this is a disadvantage because even an unintentional push immediately locks, and it is unclear why or to whom this feature is necessary. This button can be disabled in the Solaar software that runs on Linux, although the reasoning behind why it was designed that way is not entirely clear. Only the Fn button should be used to enable this option.
