Review on 🐊 Gator Slicer by Dion Madison

Cuts well but not without problems

I am a big fan of alligator dice and was dying to try this food slicer but I wasn't quite convinced. First, it's heavy and requires more parts to clean than its counterparts. Disassembling and reassembling for cleaning is a bit fiddly, and being a bit clumsy in the kitchen and always in a hurry, I'm not sure I can avoid nicks with these blades. On the sharp blades of the cube, it is almost impossible to cut yourself on the blades of the cube due to the small mesh size and easy rinsing. This device is a bit more complex and the top and bottom need to be taken apart to clean, which exposes the blades more than I would like. They're also stepped (like sitting on a stand on the edge), making cutting more efficient but less safe. For me this is a shortcoming. On the other hand, the device cuts most things very well. My first test was a tomato - a brutal test at first :) but it passed with flying colors and cut cleanly without crushing the tomato at all. However, you are limited in the size of tomato you can use if you want to cut it whole, as the round mesh is just over 3 inches in diameter. The second test was a block of cheddar, which is notoriously difficult to cut. evenly with a knife. He cut nicely too. I expected it to do well with things like carrots, zucchini, cucumbers, and the like, and it did, but I'd be less inclined to use it for those things on a regular basis because my favorite microplane slicing blade works well for those purposes works, and I use a food processor for large batches. The next test was a lime, and even though she cut it right, the juice splattered everywhere. She did well with eggs, strawberries and mushrooms, but that was to be expected. The only thing that didn't work was the mozzarella ball, which was hopelessly crushed and torn. , patient hand to clean and gr. The size of the ID limits the number of foods you can cut at one time.
