(Disclaimer: I bought this monitor specifically for console gaming, but don't let that put you off other uses! My review only focuses on my personal use and those who may have similar needs). If you (like me) love gaming and don't want the usual high cost combined with high quality, then this monitor may be your solution. I deliberately gave up my 55-inch HD LED TV and put some gaming expenses on the back burner. I didn't want to completely sacrifice my hobby just because it might hurt my budget/savings/investments and all the other good, responsible stuff. :) I never sacrifice quality either, so getting the best of both worlds can be difficult. But it's entirely possible! I made some comparison purchases and was impressed with the performance of this affordable ACER. Knowing their reputation, I chose this particular model simply for its gaming focus and price point (the product description on this page is correct). I have compiled my main observations in the pros and cons sections below and I can say with confidence that it has given me the opportunity to gamble on my own terms without significant financial investment. For me, this is a 5-star satisfaction experience! My gear: Playstation 4 My must-haves: Table size 20-24 inches <$120 Full 1080 HD at 60Hz refresh rate or higher No ghosting/lag in cinematics or gameplay Multiple image adjustment settings Headphone audio jack Easy to set up and assemble Excellent price Value (potential) Cons: Power button is easy to press or gets confused with settings buttons during setup No internal speaker (although it's not a problem for me, I use pro headphones for 90% of the audio) Only 1 HDMI port (not a problem for me still) The stand isn't height adjustable Make no mistake, this is a solid monitor for most general purposes. The photos and videos show it pretty well, but it's much nicer in person. It looks professional and durable and will complement any decor. It's definitely worth experimenting with the settings to get perfect rendering and tweak the in-game gamma as needed. I think it works great in bright or low light and isn't one of those screens that should be in the dark. space to shine. At some point I might be tempted to test it more thoroughly alongside my 4k iMac, but for now I'm good at just dedicating it to my lonely PS4. I hope this review helps those who are still undecided. I am very satisfied with the value for money and it meets all the requirements that I was specifically looking for :)
