DO NOT knit women's socks in one skein, but they are durable and a great color!

Using the standard softness test (an oxymoron in sock yarn) I ran it off my lips. It has a much smaller halo than the weight of the Nature Spun Sport shown strand by strand above, but it's made of 25% nylon, a man-made material that's extruded as a thread several kilometers long to mimic silk (it was produced during World War I to replace silk in stockings so silk could be used for parachute cords, taking the best to sustain life, always far more valuable than fashion). I know from Patons Kroy that when the socks are tied tight They wear well and stand up to years of heavy use. I have never used this color but it seems thicker than pure wool Nature Spun Sport. Croy has 18 yards fewer than the other, but the same weight is listed. My kitchen scale says 50g and 51g, meaning neither is underweight, but they are knit by length, not weight. I usually knit slightly long socks or, if you prefer, slightly short crew necks. It will not be possible to knit a standard length women's sock from one skein, but I have short but wide legs. A boyish environment suits me well. To get a medium full length women's sock you need an additional 30 yards or about 415 yards in total. So either buy a third strand or use your stash for contrasting heels and toes. This yarn is still excellent value for money. I love this color and can't wait to knit this pair! Yes, Paton has a great color,
