Review on DoggyRide Mini Stroller Rebel Black by Ben Liu

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very strong, manoeuvrable

I received it a few days ago and have already used it. Since there were very few reviews, I think it's worth writing a detailed one. This stroller is very durable to say the least. It's built like a tank. The box weighs 26 kilos, the stroller about 24. Internal dimensions: 20 centimeters long, 16 centimeters wide, 17 centimeters high. Two separate versions, a stroller and a bike trailer (i.e. there is only one version in the box) I got the stroller I wanted Out of the box: assembly requires several steps: open the sides, attach the bar to the "Roof", attach brake, attach side wheels, attach front wheel, attach handle (I recommend taking a break beforehand), inflate tires to 30psi, the whole process takes 20 minutes. To figure it out and take 20-30 minutes to complete Tools needed: a screwdriver and wrench (or less desirable, pliers) to secure the two brake bolts, a bike tire pump, the rest of the assembly requires no tools, you'll have to partially disassemble it to do it to put in the car, disassemble (partially) for 5-10 minutes and reassemble for 5-10 minutes without having to "fold" it. You will need three "nutless studs" (1/4" diameter, 1.5" long): 2 for the handlebars and one very important for attaching the roof rack; *one was missing* from my box. First a regular nut and bolt and then (better) a real uncapped pin ($5 at OSH) solved the problem. It all feels a bit "recycled": very, very strong, can hold a much heavier (but not much more) dog than mine. "The leash" inside is too strong. The tube holding the front wheel could be slightly smaller. But it's very, very easy to maneuver. The cabin is very spacious (both openings and grilles). The front flap rolls up and can be held in place with the included elastic straps. It has a "solar roof" that can also be folded down. The back flap is a large storage pocket with a small elasticated "cup holder". The dog enters through the back, which is very low to the ground (the dog does not need to be lifted if it can walk). Mine didn't hesitate at the entrance, he sat outside for most of the walk and lay down for the last 10 minutes). The steering wheel is covered. Brake: I would prefer to have it on the back of the wheel (closer to the person) for easier and quicker fitting; it's in front of the (left) wheel, a little awkward. I would also prefer one brake per wheel rather than just one side. But it's very strong (did I say that before?) and holds securely. The rear wheels are large, 12-inch in diameter, and air-filled for a smooth ride and easy handling of potholes and rocks. As such they are very well designed and manufactured. The only weak point: The steering wheel is in two plastic bushings. attached to the frame. Although the plastic is thick, I suspect it will be the first one, hopefully in a few years. Would I buy it again? Yes.
