Review on ๐Ÿคฟ Aqua Lung MicroMask Dive Mask: Enhanced Visibility with Double Lens Technology by Tim Woods

Still the end for freediving masks.

In my opinion this is a general purpose, low volume freediving mask if it fits your face. I wish I had just bought this as my first mask instead of trying cheaper alternatives. I dived with Mares Star before buying this mask. I have a small head, 7-1/8 for fitted hats, medium to narrow face. When I first got the micro mask, I was concerned that it didn't fit my face. I have a hot spot on the bridge of my nose. All I had to do to fix it was move the mask down a little and it fit my face like it was custom made. A small note on the design; Scuba has changed the branding on the top of the mask. Where it used to say "Technisub" it now says "Micromask". The Technisub branding is nowhere to be found on the current version of this mask. Just a note. Many other reviewers agreed that the durability of this mask outweighs the fact that it comes second in terms of actual volume in the mask. I also dive with the Aqualung Sphera X for deeper dives over 100ft but I prefer a micro mask for standard diving, exploration etc. I trim my beard to 1 before diving and have had no leaks. I've seen guys with full beards who could wear this mask without leaking. Very easy to level all the way up to 60+ feet. This is the only mask I've had where the air bubbles from the lining of the mask come out of the bottom nose of the mask. Another great advantage of this mask is its outer shape. it is extremely hydrodynamic, even better than the Sphera X. Good for freediving and fast descents and ascents. It's worth the investment if it fits your face properly. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't fit your face, there are great alternatives and new devices are coming out all the time.
