Mixed feelings good for water sports

We bought wetsuits for all of us for our upcoming snorkeling trip to the Caribbean in January but we started using them in the indoor pool for swim lessons as my kids always turn blue afterwards and just tremble in the water for 10 minutes. I liked this one for our little one because it zips up the front and opens up a lot more than the adult and older kids models. This feature greatly facilitates its involvement. However, this does not keep them very warm. The description says it's 2mm neoprene, exactly the same as what I bought for my older kids (also from Neosport), but it's thinner and still turns blue, just not as quickly. I bought this infant/toddler wetsuit partly because of the front zip closure. but mostly because I thought it was the only size that fits my 2 year old. After we received and used it I realized I could buy the same size from the same company in a different style that I bought for my older children. I wish I had known before buying as I would have bought a different style so it stays warm longer in the water. When she outgrows it I switch her to a different style. NeoSport Youth Premium Neoprene 2mm Youth Shorty Wetsuits This product's dimensions appear to match the company's size chart. On the Neosport website, size 1 is listed as suitable for 20-25 lbs. My daughter is 23 pounds so we bought her a size 1. It can be a little loose, but not overdone. Maybe that's why it doesn't heat up anymore? But it feels thinner than my other kids' 2mm wetsuits. I just bought her a swim shirt to wear underneath, hoping it will help her retain more body heat.
