The first time I changed the oil on my car it took me three different oil wrenches and over an hour of sweat and frustration when one of the wrenches broke the filter leaving everything oily and slippery. I also accidentally put the new filter on pretty tight, so I knew I was going to need something better. I was about to buy the double price Craftsman version until I saw this one for only $13. It had great reviews so I thought why not, the others are double the price anyway even though it's not brand name. Guess I just used this today and it took it off right away I literally thought it was just sliding around. The filter didn't grip (I had a different wrench) and I was very frustrated until I checked and of course twisted the filter. I also only had to use a 3/8" ratchet, although you can use a larger 1/2" ratchet. I will probably buy one of these for my dad as a gift.
