My husband and I played croquet when we were children and we thought it would be a good game when family came to visit. When it arrived we eagerly set it up and got ready to play. My husband's second shot (!) broke his hammer in two. After examining the handle, we noticed a knot in the wood right where it broke. I went to the company's website to inquire about a replacement, but the process for doing so is so complicated (don't call or email us; follow the shipping instructions) that I was discouraged. The customer must return the defective part to the company for a fee and present the proof of purchase. The company will determine if it is a manufacturer defect. Only when they find it, they will send you a replacement part. My husband is surfing the internet looking for old croquet sets. We haven't seen a decent looking set at a decent price. And this one was no exception.
