Our beach house kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. Kitchen work surfaces are almost non-existent and what is there is not strategically located. I don't know who developed it, but definitely not a chef! I use this shelf to empty large pots and pans, but I also use it to create extra workspace over the sink. I can put a cutting board on it and chop vegetables, or I can use it as a place for a pot to put cooking ingredients in. It's durable and I'm not worried about the weight. Every week I just put it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Whenever I need a sink, it immediately gets out of my way. Nice addition to my kitchen. I also bought a house.
