When using TOSlink/Optical input with this audio HDMI embedder, the device will output extremely loud junk audio artifacts for a few seconds when your output display is on *after* the rest of the system while it connects. When he first did this, one of my speakers got damaged. The only good thing here is that the speaker was still under warranty. The functional design of this device is completely loveless. I originally bought it to replace a cheaper unit that had annoying sync issues at times, but at least it had circuitry to mute the audio when power was removed and plugged in. Of course, any day of the week, I'll get annoyed with this dangerous junk at times. What good is a sound utility that wrecks your sound hardware? Also, despite having a digital signal at each stage of the chain, the picture quality was kind of fuzzy. Just a terrible unit.
