I bought two of these and two cheaper ones to compare. We drive cross-country and like to talk on the walkie-talkie. You definitely get more for your money with them. Not only was the cable and clip better quality, but I couldn't understand what kids were saying with the cheaper mics most of the time. With them, the quality of the microphone is much better. The built-in speaker is also slightly better, although both are very good in this regard. I'm very happy with it and wouldn't recommend the cheaper ones based on my experience.
