I had a 20 year old 50 gallon water heater. I was nervous that it would eventually leak and I didn't want a flood. (I had a flood in January 2020 due to a leak under my sink that went undetected - thousands of dollars worth of damage. Unfortunately NOT where I happened to have a leak detector. Now I have Govee radio leak detectors under every sink, every toilet (fridge, dishwater, washing machine and everywhere in my basement.) I had this plug installed by a master plumber.
