Used on a 2003 Ford Taurus Wagon. I wasn't smart or adventurous enough to figure out how to pull the door latch mechanism out of the door to attach this little bug. However, figuring out how to rotate the part in the door proved difficult. But now that it's fixed and working I'm a happy camper. And yes, the old block was not protected from debris. What a pity. This is a common problem that eventually affects all of the driver's side front doors on older Ford vehicles.
