I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews about exploding lightning bolts and such. Having ridden them about 200 miles in temperatures as high as 28 degrees Fahrenheit, I'd like to share my thoughts: First, let's talk about what they aren't: They're not top-of-the-line fashion overshoes. They cost $21. These are reasonably priced galoshes that will help you with the occasional outing in the area. When I realize that, I babysit her. I am very, very careful when putting them on and tying them up. I don't pull them aggressively. I don't stretch or pull them unnecessarily. So far they're holding up well. I don't find it difficult to put them on (I bought a large size for my US size 11.5 shoes). The bottom leaves enough space for spikes and heels. With my cold driving temperatures, they leave a lot to be desired in terms of warmth. I would say that after my average ride of about 15 miles my toes are about 50% warmer than without shoe covers. Toes are still cold at the end of the ride but not numb for 30 minutes (like without overshoes).
