Not impressed: Paper towels

I had high hopes for Tork as a premium brand at a premium price. They didn't do them justice. These towels are thinner than the 2-ply windshield towels on the Georgia Pacific Interstate. The weight of this box is approximately 17.1, and the weight of the same number of GP cloths is 19.5. The pads are not glued at all. They're not even fully horizontal when dosing. Based on my experience with other paper products, I figured that the term double ply meant it was a sheet with two plies bonded together. It's more like two single-sheet towels being dispensed at the same time. I'm no expert, and it may not be common practice in the industry to tape two-ply windshield wipers together the way toilet paper and paper towel rolls are taped together. General practitioners were not well connected either. But at least they're loosely connected enough to be spent and used without destroying the layers. These towels have a much denser emboss than GP, giving them a texture that suggests they've been washed better. But I'm not sure if the heavier texture brings any tangible benefits when the towel gets wet. I ran various tests to compare the durability of this towel to the GP brand (wet tear, etc.) and the GPs were noticeably stronger in all scenarios.

Pros
  • Compatible with Tork 70WM1 paper towel dispenser - fits all common single-fold dispensers
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
