Great little DC plug

I wanted to add both a USB and DC plug to my van. It was the perfect union. Easy to install, straight ahead. The only thing that surprised me was the blue LED. I'm not sure why this would be added and what purpose it would serve other than to make it pretty. I know it's just a small LED, but it's a vampire on an RV battery. Another thing is to let it go slowly. I'm sure the blue LED doesn't use a lot of power, but when camping remotely, every ounce of battery juice counts. The blue LED was not needed.
