Review on Dorman 800-228 Fuel Line Compression Union: Pack of 5 - Adapters for Nylon to Nylon Tube by Chef Buntiloy

The fuel line on my 2000 Impala was leaking. Bought a Dorman kit that needs to heat a plastic tube of hot water. Another reviewer used it in addition to a set so he didn't have to fiddle with boiling water. It worked well for me too, installed in less than five minutes. Just don't overtighten the nuts. Other reviewers have said that the engine cover on the 3800 engine does not fit right after the kit is installed and they are correct. The plastic cover rubs against the pipe after installation. Being a veteran aircraft mechanic just doesn't cut it when it comes to wiping down wiring, especially fuel, hydraulic and electrical equipment. I cut a notch in the lid to allow at least 3/4 inch clearance for the line. You can't even tell if you're not looking for a cover modification.
