Review on Cinevision DVR1000 Dual Deck Combo: Ultimate DVD/VCR Efficiency by Brandon Henry

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Average at best in combination DVD-VCR

It's only "good" because it plays old VHS tapes and most DVDs. So far, only store-bought media can be played without freezing/stuttering. If you or someone you know has a fairly large and valuable video collection and doesn't consider (or can't afford) having everything on one disc, this is a good option. I know quite a few people in their fifties who have considered this option, casual viewers etc. Obviously not recommended for cinephiles who most likely have their own video gear but there is no reason to dismiss this product as something to start with and can build from here. If I were really picky, I'd dig the boot time, which is significantly longer than most modern media players, but not enough to make a fuss. During this review I tested this with The Wizard of Oz on a 24" LED TV with the main A/V jacks on, so yes it works on modern TVs or that 30 year old CRT granny. get rid of.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Good, but not great
