Review on πŸ”§ Dritz 24P Heavy Duty Snap Pliers, Purple - Efficient Tool for Snapping with Durability by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Made for sewing

They've served their purpose. I ordered the repair of a bad rig. I see some people saying they're bent while mine isn't. I bet if you're really addicted to them they could, but I was able to build the rig without using my full power. After reading the reviews I started to wonder if people were just trying to punch through the material without punching a hole first. I would have to assume that if you miss the hole you will have to use too much force which in turn can bend the pliers. Mine came with an owner's manual, and there's even a tutorial video in the listing's image gallery. (I thought I read someone complained that it didn't come with instructions.) The reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the handles aren't tight and are "stacked" what with enough effort I could see they can bend, unlike for example channel locks which are more expensive. Also, the inserts for holding the bolt while pressing are plastic, as are the removal tool and the inserts for pliers to hold the other inserts. Plastic inserts and handle design don't allow us to consider it "heavy duty" in my opinion. Perhaps the description seems to indicate that they are designed for appropriately sized metal clasps and not mini clasps or plastic clasps. I've found with regular repeated use that someone might want to invest more in a heavier build, but at this price point they should work great if you just need a quick fix. (wow how rhyming)
