There were conflicting reviews so I ordered a pair to see for myself. Even if you spread the rack wide enough to switch ski directions so the bindings fit together (rather than on top of each other), you still CANNOT fit 3 pairs of skis on this thing. . Adult ski bindings touch the top of the skis on the lower rack and prevent all skis from resting properly on the rack arms. 3 pairs of children's skis fit easily on the stand, since the bindings on children's skis are not that high. So the big question is: WHY doesn't the manufacturer just go back and add another inch between the rack arms? I suspect this was developed 20 years ago when adult ski bindings could be smaller and there was no incentive for the manufacturer to redesign frame shapes and create a second version of them. Obviously they know it's a problem. If you can find another that is similar and fits 3 skis, buy it. Otherwise you need to buy 2 pairs to fit 4 skis.
