Review on 🚀 Genuine E3D Hemera 1.75mm Direct: Unmatched Quality and Precision by Rick Everett

I've been so disappointed by this hot end for a long time. In general, this is an excellent system, but the disadvantages are too great. To sum it up in one sentence: it's overly finicky, unreliable and has disappointing support from E3D. Three of these stand out: 1) square nuts, which can easily break if over-tightened, which can completely destroy the motor housing, 2) the total lack of professionally designed covers and fasteners from E3D, and 3) the use of ridiculously flimsy thermal ones Interruptions just aren't suited to this job. Well, that's a lot of criticism, most of which have simple answers - be more careful, don't twist things, etc. But that's not the point. Ruining a $150 hot end shouldn't be that easy. I'm not a newbie either - I've run a print farm professionally and currently maintain a few very high end printers (Vorons, PEEK specific printers etc.) at home and work on less accessible professional machines at work. There are many hotends on the market that have a much better thermal break design - check out Dragon/Slice Engineering, which uses bimetal necks and/or restricts the heater block so the thin neck doesn't take the brunt of the power. .As for the mounts - it's just a pity. Most of the available mounts are now community crafted. Of course, many in the 3D printing community are like that, but it's really sad that E3D hasn't even provided a basic mount to start with - it's just laziness. I invested a lot of money into this hot ending and honestly I wish I had found an alternative (of which there are many). E3D is way behind in the game now.
