I've been using a Hitachi G12SR2 5 amp coffee grinder for decades that finally broke last weekend. I cut out 1/8th of the steel angle and the bearings fell out. After looking at many options for angle grinders, I liked the variable speed idea because I sometimes cut aluminum or plastic and thought it would come in handy. This grinder was also rated for 8 amps, so it seemed like a perfect fit. Once I got the grinder, I was done cutting the piece of steel that eventually killed my beloved Hitachi. To my surprise, the grinder got stuck several times at maximum speed, trying to work a few inches of steel. If you plan on cutting a lot of steel I would look elsewhere. I think I'll only use this one for light tasks. Very disappointing.
