It was really easy and fun and the finished product looks exactly like the photo here. I've never done anything like this and I'm not particularly smart. It took me about a week of 1 hour morning sessions before my son woke up, so maybe only 5-7 hours? Actually probably less. Two notes: 1) I don't really see the need to spin this thread up. This is a little tricky and will certainly require extra time. I tested two spots first, one turned up and one not, and couldn't tell what they looked like, so I didn't do that for the rest (98% of everything). 2) The felt is quite thin. If you're going to use it for more than one Christmas, or stuff it even remotely full, or have a real kid do it with this thing (rather than just a one-year-old who's barely touched it), you'll have to do it with one lining stronger material. I haven't done it yet. Let's see if I can make it by next Christmas. Fingers crossed because I really like this stocking!
