Review on OnQ Legrand Metal Bracket: Premium 8-inch Ceiling Speaker Mount for Home Office & Theater - 36467302 by Omar Obong

I felt compelled to write this review after reading all the other reviews of how 'unreliable' it is. This bracket is primarily intended for new build as a pre-planning method when drywall needs to cut a hole. I recently used 4 of these in a new build home and they couldn't be easier to use. After the tubing is framed but before the insulation or drywall is applied, attach it to the ceiling where you plan to place the speakers. This is also where you would normally route the speaker wire and hold it tight over this spot. When installing drywall, you (or the contractor) then install around the cutout, leaving a hole of the same size in the drywall. Once the drywall is in place you can go back and install the speaker where it will then attach to the secure drywall along with the bracket since it's still there. Because of this, it literally took me less than 2 minutes to install each speaker. The old method was to measure and cut a circle into the finished drywall. This product saves tons of time, headaches and the hassle of cutting the perfect hole in your new blanket.
