Poor quality, don't do it!

I bought this thread as you would expect for hand embroidery projects. For 40 years I have been embroidering from time to time. This is the first time I've bought a thread I didn't like. The first issue is relatively minor: the colors that came in the mail didn't look the same; They're kind of muted, blurry, and not bold and bright. But hey, my project is for a kid and my color scheme is pretty flexible. The second problem is more pressing. For those who don't know, each embroidery thread pulled from a neat little bundle is made up of 6 threads. Sometimes these 6 threads are divided into 2 parts of 3 threads each; Sometimes you can split them into 3 parts, each of which has 2 streams. The latter is preferred for contour work and other fairly fine details. But that's not possible with this product, because even a fairly short piece (6" or 7" long) will get hopelessly tangled in a knot before you tear it. This is true no matter how carefully or how slowly you work. Just no. I've had limited success with a piece that was broken into 2 sections of 3 strands each; By limited I mean I had 50/50 attempts to take it apart without tying it to the point where I had to throw that piece away and start over. At first I thought maybe it was an accident, just a broken part; it can happen and it's okay. But it quickly became apparent that the problem was permanent, caused by faulty manufacturing. A couple of times I've enjoyed embroidering when one of the three threads broke - not on the wrong side of the embroidered item (bib), but on top. There was no knot or other obstacles that usually arise from time to time when we don't pay enough attention to what we are doing; he just collapsed because he was weak. I then had to take a new piece of thread and go back and sew over the piece I had just made so it wouldn't fall out, otherwise I would have to pull out the whole broken piece and start over. Finally, I had an epiphany: embroidery floss doesn't cost a fortune; Why not hop in the car, drive to the fabric store and buy something of decent quality to inspect before you buy? The product, which I personally bought at the hardware store was a bit more expensive but infinitely easier to work with and looks a lot more attractive. I have become a person who buys almost everything online; for a while I even had an amazon who brought me fruit and veg (limited service area for Prime members). I started to believe that there is nothing that cannot be successfully ordered online, but this time I was wrong. This product is defective and a false economy. Go and get good stuff. It's not bad floss to use. It was hard to put through a cross stitching needle.
