Review on No-Spill 1415 CARB Compliant 1-1/4-Gallon Poly Gas Can for Easy Refueling by Luis Mercado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

With one button you control the flow rate and quantity. No funnel required!

Almost 5 stars. I love everything about this gas cartridge except the black cap that screws onto the cartridge and the poorly designed serrated (finger cutting) tab. It seems to me that they could make cutting easier. At the end of this review I will explain how I handled the lid. The clear strip at each end of the can is perfect for seeing how much fuel is left. The buttoned spout reminds me of an old thermos of lemonade that my mom used to take to picnics or the beach in the early '60s. With the button you can easily control how much and how fast gasoline comes out of the spout. It's worth buying for this feature alone. You don't need a funnel if you're good with the button. The smaller the fuel tank, the slower you will have to release the gas from the spout. You know. Common sense. Be sure to read the WARNING label. You will regret if you don't. Skip the warning if you like the taste of gasoline or how it feels to your eyes. no That didn't happen to me. I always turn off the pressure before I start watering. Here's a tip. Shake the gasoline BEFORE opening the cap and pressing the pressure release button. I'm not joking. Google it. If you live in a climate where moisture can get into your gasoline, shaking will disperse the water and you won't get into the engine with a high concentration of water! Not good. Another piece of advice. Ethanol sucks. Find a gas station that sells REC90. It does not contain ethanol. Your carabiner will love you for it. Lawn technology hates ethanol. Especially two-stroke engines. Some Shell stations near me sell REC90. Many marinas do this, but often charge a high price for it. This is how I dealt with this unfortunate black cap. First I removed the black cap from the gas cylinder. Then, away from the gas canister, I used a cutting wheel and a Dremel motor to cut off the jagged tab on the black cap. I then smoothed out the connector where the tongue was used to connect. That jagged tab is more trouble than it's worth. You'll agree when your fingers get cut off by it, or when you decide that pushing 200 pounds is easier than picking the lock. Here's a tip. When screwing the black cap onto the interfering thread of the gas cartridge, slightly lift the white neck. This makes it easier for the threads to start correctly. Once they have started correctly, you can let go of the spout. Other people have complained about the cap leaking, but I'm wondering if they never screwed it on properly.

Pros
  • Dust cap included to keep the spout clean
Cons
  • Frequency
