Review on Colorfullife 2 Filter + 4 Carbon Booster Filters: High-Quality Replacement Filters for Holmes AER1 Type Total Air Filter, Compatible with HAPF30AT and HAP242-NUC by James Turpin

Contrary to comments and description fits HAP412GN

I myself am confused if they fit HAP412GN after reading the Q&A on this product and the reviews they are not but I took a risk , because the dimensions and appearance are stated that they would, and they do. The HAP412GN is an older Holmes cleaner that was sold at Wal-Mart 15 years ago (maybe older) but it's a quality unit that I own and I'm sure many others still do to this day. However, I'm tired of paying $15 locally for a Holmes OEM filter. In the first picture above you can see that it is installed in the HAP412GN. On the second picture you can see the original Holmes HAPF30 filter with a black activated carbon filter under the screen. , the original filter has a dust mesh on both sides of the filter, which these replacement parts do not have. As you can see, the black charcoal filter slides under the plastic crossbars. The originals now have a thinner pleated filter made of white paper inside to make room for the charcoal filter. You have thicker crepe paper with little space. You need to cut and insert the activated carbon filter. I'm adding this because I've seen photos in reviews where people didn't use a charcoal filter or just applied it to the back of the filter frame. Look at the original, cut it out and glue it in there. In the third image you can see the only difference in the two filters. And it's the four ribs on the bottom that don't bother the HAP412GN (and similar models I think) in any way. The fourth picture shows just the carbon filter after it has been cut and how it fits. I can't comment on durability compared to originals, but if I get the chance I'll update to compare durability.
