the balls were polished, smooth and strong! I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised at how heavy and durable they are. They appear to be of very good quality, well polished and free of any burrs, scratches, dents or any other imperfections that I can see. Happy with purchase and would buy again if more (or different sizes) are needed.
