I originally thought the charger was the problem. Support contacted me and helped me understand the following: A) I should be using a DC ammeter to check charging current, not the AC meter I was using. (I didn't even look) and B) I placed the charger on the roof of my truck. To get to the battery I had to use an aftermarket extension cord. It turned out that an extraneous cable was laid in the opposite polarity of the solar charger. Not a fault with the charger, I just wasn't paying attention to what I was doing. SUNER POWER Technical Support was prompt, courteous and very helpful. I will definitely buy from this seller again. UPDATE the seller contacted me and exchanged the charger for me free of charge. A new one came today and it works. Many Thanks. By the way, I tested the new solar charger a bit. When placed on my truck's dashboard, the charger output is about 1/10 amp as if it were outside the car and pointed directly at the sun. The windshield reduces the amount of light energy that reaches the solar panel. This is not a product issue at all, it only works with windshields and solar panels. The solar charger is weatherproof so it will be on the roof of my truck, not on the dashboard.
