Perfect for kitchen sink aerators

I had to replace the Kohler kitchen faucet aerator and the American Standard bathroom faucet aerator after ten years of use. I bought 1.5 gpm and 2.2 gpm aerators because I wasn't sure how much power the old ones had and they're cheap. The hardware store charges $4 each, I bought ten for $16 and two washers per aerator. At the rate I'm using them, I'll probably have to buy another fifty years. I tried both in a kitchen faucet and found the 1.5 GPM aerator to be great for the job. 2.2 GPM was good if you want to increase water flow by 38% and don't mind a little splash when washing dishes depending on the depth of your sink. Whatever my original aerator was, it was under 2.2 gpm and over 1.5 gpm when possible. Maybe the aerator is clogged. I also installed a 1.5 GPM aerator in the bathroom faucet as 2.2 GPM would definitely be too much. 1.5 GPM is also suitable for bathroom faucets, which is more than the original. The original was too weak. Another plus is that both aerators work in both Kohler and American Standard faucets as if they were made for them. There aren't many different sizes of aerators out there, and I'm willing to bet they will fit most standard-sized faucets. Both of my faucets are female, so I unscrew the male aerator assembly or ring from the faucet, remove the clogged aerator, put in a new aerator, replace or use the same rubber washer and screw the ring back into the faucet. I did it without tools. You may need to use a wrench to unscrew the aerator, be careful not to twist in the wrong direction and damage the faucet. When I replaced them, I just screwed them into the faucets with my fingers. Use a paper towel to soften your fingers. There are no leaks, but maybe I just got lucky with those faucets. Another trick is to let everything dry before you put on your new aerator so you can get a better grip on it with your fingers. I highly recommend these aerators.
