Review on 🌊 Waterproof Yellow Hiking GPS - Garmin Geko 201 by Mohmed Burt

great for geocaching

This is a great GPS for geocaching. Battery life is great and since regular batteries are used it's easy to carry around a spare set so don't worry about the internal battery dying. This model is solid as a nail and still works despite being badly beaten in the Michigan woods. In this price range it is difficult to find a waterproof model. You're staring at a black and white screen with no Google Earth-like imagery, just simple maps that look like a pirate's treasure map, which I found almost easier to use. You have to enter the coordinates yourself before going outside, which can be a little tricky the first few times, but it's actually very easy. This GPS works great under the canopy, fits perfectly in a pocket, is highly visible if dropped and is pretty easy to use. I hate printing cache info pages, so I usually use this GPS in conjunction with the geocaching iPhone app, using the iPhone to check the cache info when needed, and Geko to actually get the cache's location pursue. This allows me to save valuable battery life and protect my phone in a waterproof case for most of my hunting trips.
