I received this pinner after returning the PC pinner as it didn't sink the pins below the surface. I liked that it was a 2" pin and assumed it would work with the 1 3/8" pins used to attach a 3/4" thick red oak edging to the of created desktop are needed. I like that it has depth adjustment. and other reviewers have posted good reviews (like the PC pinner). I also like that it has a nose with no de-jam tools. However, it's still not very good (or I'm doing something wrong, which is entirely possible). ) I've found that for pens larger than 1 inch I need to do three things: 1) Turn the depth setting all the way to allow the pens to sink as deep as possible. 2) Turn the air compressor regulator to 100 psi or higher. 3) Light at least 5 pins in scrap wood just before I pin my project. If I don't do these three things, the pins will be proud every time. I have a new CAT compressor with a new hose. The compressor keeps the air in the hose without leaks. My other nailers work great with this compressor. Very frustrating. If anyone has any suggestions on how to sink the pins without applying as much pressure or requiring multiple practice shots, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions you could offer. Maybe this is how pinners work? (ps. Finisher Carpenter - Huge respect! Guys you guys have some kind of witchcraft and skill that I don't have)
