Review on REDCAMP Windproof Portable Backpacking Stove: Powerful 4600W Firepower, Lightweight Propane Butane Camping Stove with Piezo Ignition by Clinton Delgado

Good three season stove

I had the opportunity to try this stove in the cold. Bought for skiing. I have a very reliable oil stove, but the fuel, tank and body of the stove is a relatively heavy load to add to ski equipment. The body of this stove and the isopropyl fuel are much lighter and smaller, which is a big plus. I also like the fact that this oven has a built in piezo flame starter. The stove ignited with the first click after the release of a very small amount of fuel. The ambient temperature was 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Disadvantages are as follows: Although the stove lit quickly and without much fuss when I attempted to light matches while wearing gloves, I was very disappointed with the time it took to heat quite a bit of water. . I just wanted to make hot chocolate. It took 9 minutes to heat (not even boil) 10 ounces of water. At least three times longer than my oil stove. Another frustrating aspect of this stove is that attaching the stove to the isoprop can release a large amount of fuel when the canister is pulled. This can be harmful if the fuel comes in contact with the skin and can be worse if the eyes are involved or if flames or sparks were present when the stove cartridge was assembled. This makes this stove a very economical and lightweight alternative to a 3-season camp. kitchen stove. For me, winter activities remain oil stoves. PS I found another nice feature in this oven. It fits into an extremely nice, compact package with the G4free Mess Kit Pot and Lid.
