Poor flame control but otherwise functional.

The biggest problem I have with this stove is poor flame control. At low settings, the flame is a neat blue. However, at higher settings it becomes a colder yellow and easily detaches from the burner. If a pot is placed on it, the flame will burn around the sides of the pot instead of underneath, resulting in gas and heat loss. Pros: Broad and solid base. Low to the ground makes balancing the pots easy. The igniter works fine. Windproof, especially when you put a pot on it. Cons: Poor flame…

looks good! suitable for outdoor activities

I have just received my new oven. here are my first reactions. It's not as small as my previous stove, but I like that it connects to the fuel with a hose; My last oven caught fire and I hope this configuration fixes that potential problem. The joints of the oven where it unfolds are a little tight, although I would expect them to loosen with use. I can use some lube to make the process easier but there is a burn issue so I might want to consider what lube I could use. First thought was WD40…

Gourmet coffee in the wind?

I bought this specifically for my moka pot. Conventional hotplates are too big for the small surface of the coffee pot. It boils 10 ounces of water in an aluminum pot in less than 90 seconds (72 by my count). I also fried some bacon in an 8 inch skillet. Fiction. Didn't try isobutane as I wanted to run it with an adapter from 1lb propane tanks and ended up using my refillable tanks. I'm so pleased with this little burner that I can't say enough good things about it. I used to have a branded…

Waited while using it multiple times. So far so good

I bought this unit to replace another cheap brand that only worked a couple of times before dying. This one is better made and better designed. The simple built-in windshield works a lot better than I expected and definitely gets the heat where it needs to go. I usually fill it up with MSR fuel for hiking, but also took a couple of adapters with me for car camping. The photos should only show how well they match. There is just enough space to store the adapters with the stove. It also came with

Buy now! on camping & hiking

Do you like to go very, very, very far against your will with a machine gun? Do you think you look cute brewing your little coffee in your Jetboy while contemplating your decision to join the Infantry? Then buy that thing, man. It's harder than ever. Buy a propane adapter so you have plenty more fuel in cold weather to make a million and one ramen or MRE noodles. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PACK IT IN YOUR BACKPACK! He's pretty strong, but not super strong. BUY THE PROPANE ADAPTER KIT! Hey, I have a…

This is the way. - Camping

That thing is a beast. Very compact but I was afraid it would be flimsy and flimsy. I was wrong. All parts are made from fairly thick stainless steel and the pivot points are very strong. It boiled water in under 6 minutes which is amazing. I bought a Revain recommended adapter so I can run on propane and it works great. However, I will say that the reason I think they don't advertise it as propane is because propane is much hotter. However, you hardly have to open the valve before it will…

Good three season stove

I had the opportunity to try this stove in the cold. Bought for skiing. I have a very reliable oil stove, but the fuel, tank and body of the stove is a relatively heavy load to add to ski equipment. The body of this stove and the isopropyl fuel are much lighter and smaller, which is a big plus. I also like the fact that this oven has a built in piezo flame starter. The stove ignited with the first click after the release of a very small amount of fuel. The ambient temperature was 34 degrees…
