Review on 🔊 Gibson Single Exhaust System 319871 by Gilbert Pfaff

I installed this on my 2004 Ford Escape yesterday. Here's my breakdown. Installation: 3/5 After the old system was removed, the installation was fairly easy with a few hiccups. First, the supplied length, which connects to the factory pipe after the catalytic converter, was too long. I ended up buying a 2" ID to 2" ID adapter, placed it on a standard pipe and slipped the included connector segment through the flange hole onto the adapter. (Yes, three pieces of pipe are held together with a clamp. It works!) Two stars off for assembly because I spent an hour and a half trying to figure out how it works and then accidentally figured it out. Fit and finish: 4/5. The system is very similar to the standard, but not perfect. It doesn't hang directly from the suspensions, and on very big bumps, the exhaust hits the underside of the body when cornering. Although this is very rare. Finally, the tip doesn't exit at the same point as the tip of the shaft; it's about 3-4" left of the factory position. It doesn't hit the rear bumper and looks fine. Sound: 5/5 First, it's a Ford Escape with a 3.0 liter engine. It's not a Mustang, Firebird, or GTO Exhaust noise is louder than the stock car, but not by much On the freeway, the noise is a bit bassier than the stock car, but not annoying At idle, there's a small growl, but no one would mistake it for a high-performance car It's exactly that which i was looking for something louder but quiet enough for a family car i hope there will be some increase in gas mileage due to the increased flow but i will have to wait a few weeks average 3 goes to 4/5 stars i will try to post videos before after.
