Cheaper and thinner cases are available. I chose this one because of the five layer construction because my main goal is to protect the car when it's in the garage. So I figured the extra layers were worth the extra cost. If something like a rake or shovel fell and bounced off the car, I didn't want the paintwork damaged. The cover is well made and fits my 2019 Miata Convertible like a glove. The only complaint I could fault is that the front is snug but not too tight. I remove the antenna when the cover is up. Very simple, just unscrew.
