Extension D-ring broke on first use and released the dog

I have a small dog. The leash itself is pretty solid, but the D-ring that lets you attach it to other leashes is pretty poor. It jumped up on first use, allowing the dog to escape. Luckily the 50ft line helped us catch him back. It's good value for money, just make sure you harden the D-ring before using it.
