The kitchen funnel is constantly hit by a nail over the sink. The hook fixed it. The bottom of the shelf was the best place to hang a trowel. The hook worked. A plastic tablespoon hangs on a hook on a bathroom shelf, handy for measuring borax or soda for washing dishes. The Folded Utility Knife now hangs on a hook by the door where I usually open packages. Unlike a nail, it will not hurt anyone or tear clothing if they trip over it one day. To reduce desk clutter, I hung four items on the hooks. The most important thing is the headlamp hanging near the door. In the event of a power outage at night, I know where to find it. There is a headset over my cordless phone and a chain around my neck. If I want to talk hands-free, I can clip my phone to the necklace and plug in a headset. On the floor behind my desk was a tangle of 7 computer cables. Now they go through the hooks on the back of the table. I can check the balance of a mower blade by marking the center and hanging it on a nail with ropes holding the ends and a plumb bob between them. You can see in the picture that a hook is better than a nail because the curve keeps the plumb right between the hanging strings. I have three outdoor extensions on wheels. It takes two minutes to bring the cord into the room, take it out and unwind it, and another two minutes to put it away. This could mean four minutes of line handling to make a four second cut. These hooks are just right for holding the ends of a 25-foot string along a joist in a carport, three steps from the exit. Between the ends, the cable rests on screws at 5 foot intervals. It takes me half a minute to get the cable and plug it in, and another half minute to unplug it. Every time I need power at the back door, it saves three minutes. From a pack of 18 hooks I still have 3. I plan to buy more.
