I bought this dual VGA adapter cable to share a monitor between PC and Xbox without having to constantly switch cables. The idea works like this: Currently I have to disconnect the Xbox VGA cable from my monitor to connect the PC VGA cable to use the PC. Then if I want to use an Xbox instead, I have to reverse the process of removing the PC's VGA cable and plugging the Xbox's VGA cable into the monitor. Connect VGA to this adapter and then connect the adapter to your monitor. Obviously I didn't intend to turn on the Xbox and PC at the same time! If I want to use a PC, I just turn off the Xbox and use the PC. And then vice versa if I want to use Xbox. Same as now, except I don't have to keep physically disconnecting and reconnecting the VGA cables. just right? Do you speak perfectly? Only it doesn't work. If you connect both VGA cables to this adapter and the adapter connected to the monitor, for some reason the signal will be degraded and the monitor will look very dim, faded and slightly washed out. This happens no matter what device I'm using: PC or Xbox. I actually have to unplug a VGA cable from the adapter to use the device I want to use, Xbox or PC. If both cables are plugged in, it doesn't work. The adapter is of excellent quality, very durable and gold plated, and the price is excellent. And this problem could be something related to my old monitor, I don't know, so I didn't want to give the rating of the adapter. Hence my 4 star rating. But I wanted to put this warning up so others know before they spend their money. If anyone has a solution to this problem please let me know, I'd love to hear from you. Of course, I would like to simply afford another monitor, but that is not possible for me at the moment.
